The Baddy Is Back. Now in Big and Baby Sizes, The Hip Garden Gnome Is Also A Lamp.

You may recall that I introduced you to an adorable modern colored resin garden gnome a ways back. Normally I am anti-garden gnome, but the Baddy was definitely the cutest outdoor bearded decor I'd ever seen. Designed for the Italian plastics and polyethylene product company PLUST, he's now available in a mini size as well as an indoor/outdoor lamp in two sizes.

“Baddy” is a colored resin sculpture by design by JoeVelluto (JVLT) and Alberto Fabbian




Suitable for both outdoor and indoor settings, the original baddy comes in 8 different finishes including a luminescent version that acts as a “dwarf guard” thanks to a luminous resin that absorbs light momentarily and then releases it for several hours, making it a small presence in the night.

About 10 months ago I introduced you to the defecating dog lamps by UK artist Whathisname.  Now he has created a Ferrari red version of The Good Puppy Table Lamp, a pooping Chihuahua whose turd is actually the on/off switch.

Produced by Alex Garnett are two oversized human skulls hand cast in Bone China (a fine porcelain containing bone ash) that function as a pendant lamp and a table lamp.

BANG! is a desk lamp with a gun-shaped remote controller. User can fire the “gun” to turn the light off. The light goes out and the lampshade knocks to the side, showing that it’s been hit. To turn it back on, simply shoot it again, and the lampshade will raise up slowly and turn the light back on at the same time.

Defecating Dogs Brighten Up A Room. Pooping Dog Lamps By Whatshisname.

The Good Puppy Table Lamp and the Good Boy Floor Lamp are designed by a Polish born artist who now lives and works in London and goes by the obscure moniker What's His Name.

The two dumping dog lamps, a Chihuahua and a Great Dane, are about as sophisticated looking as canines taking a crap can be. Both have On/Off switches shaped as dog turds that needs to be pressed, or in case of Good Boy lamp, stepped on.

Both lamps were supposed to be part of London’s the Art Below exhibition on London Underground stations. Even though organizers accepted the work, unfortunately London Underground banned it for being offensive.

He now creates them as made to order pieces in limited numbers.

Creating the lamp takes about one month.
