DR. CONRAD MURRAY FOUND GUILTY: Dr. Conrad Murray was found guilty yesterday of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson.
Murray was immediately remanded to jail, without bail until he is sentenced on Tuesday, November 29th. He could get up to four years in prison and lose his medical license.
After the verdict was announced, Michael's parents released a statement, saying, "We have been waiting for this moment for a very long time and we couldn't hold back tears of joy in the courtroom. Even though nothing can bring back our son, justice has finally been served! We can't wait to go home and share this day with Michael's children."
MURRAY COULD SPEND LESS THAN A YEAR IN JAIL: Dr. Conrady Murray was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and immediately remanded to jail until he is sentenced on Tuesday, November 29th. But how much time will he actually get and serve? Well, due to new sentencing laws in California aimed it could be as few as three to four months!!!
The new laws -- aimed at dealing with the state prison overcrowding -- means low-risk inmates such as Murray are being farmed off to county jails. And as we've learned multiple times from LINDSAY LOHAN, the county jails are overcrowded, too, so many low-risk inmates who check into them are often turned right back out.
And because involuntary manslaughter isn't considered a serious felony, Dr. Murray could end up spending less than a year in the slammer. L.A. District Attorney Steve Cooley so much as confirmed it yesterday saying, quote, "It will be very difficult to achieve an appropriate sentence of incarceration for Dr. Conrad Murray."
LINDSAY SPENDS LESS THAN 5 HOURS IN JAIL - CALLS IT SCARY: As has become custom, Lindsay Lohan's latest jail sentence came and went in the blink of an eye. This time, Linds was released less than five hours later. The excuse, as usual, for letting her off so easily was prison overcrowding.
Despite the little time she was there, Lindsay is reportedly telling friends that jail was "scary." TMZ said Lindsay was alone in a cell during her time behind bars, and she described prison as "cold," and one of the worst places she's ever been. This, by the way, is Lohan's fifth jail sentence since being arrested for DUI twice in 2007.
Now Lindsay must complete a strict set of community service appointments and therapy sessions each month or risk serving another
LINDSAY CHANNELING MARILYN FOR PLAYBOY: HUGH HEFNER spoke with "The Insider" yesterday about Lindsay's upcoming "Playboy" spread, and revealed that Linds channeled MARILYN MONROE for her pics.
Hefner called the photos a "classic tribute inspired by the original Tom Kelly nude pictorial of Marilyn", and added we'll find them "very classy." This isn't the first time she's impersonated Marilyn for print. In 2008, she posed as the icon for New York magazine (Above). The Playboy issue hits newsstands in late December.
KATCHING UP WITH THE KARDASHIANS - KIM RETURNS HOME/NO RECONCILIATION EXPECTED: KIM KARDASHIAN is back home from Minnesota after meeting with estranged hubby KRIS HUMPHRIES and the pastor that married them.
According to sources, Kim and Kris talked through their issues, but it's unlikely Kim wants to reconcile. Insiders, however, tell TMZ that Kris still thinks there's a chance. They say he was "ecstatic" Kim made the trip and he truly believes he can win her back. Pobrecito.
According to the New York Post ... in addition to talking to Kris, Kim went to Minnesota to apologize to his family "for all the drama, media attention and hurt this has caused them." "Us Weekly" adds that Kim felt the need to see Kris face-to-face because their communications were getting volatile.
Their source says, quote, "Things were escalating very quickly with them. She wanted to see him face to face to put some finality on it. To give them both some closure. She didn't want things to get ugly with them and it was heading down that road."
BIEBER'S ALLEGED BABY MAMA SPEAKS OUT: JUSTIN BIEBER'S alleged baby mama is telling her side of the story to "The Insider".
Mariah Yeater is sticking to her claims that she and Bieber had unprotected sex, and insists "it'll show in court to prove that my allegations are true." What that proof is exactly, she's not saying.
Justin, as we told you yesterday, denies the allegations and plans to take a DNA test to prove it. He also plans to sue Yeater after the results show he is not the father.
