UPDATED: A First Detailed Look At The Coach Branded Barbie (and Pre-order link)

Coach and Mattel have teamed up to introduce Coach Barbie which will be unveiled to the US public on August 7th.






The 12" tall co-branded doll is wearing a long version of Coach's short plaid tattersall trench , a black and green striped top, a suede red fringed skirt with gold buttons, and is accessorized with a mini Coach red bucket real leather handbag (comes in its own draw-string pouch), tiny round red framed eyeglasses and a miniature pair of Coach's high-heeled red, camel and navy leather shoes with tassle.





Similar to the Burberry Barbie launched a few years back (I have to admit, I've always thought of Coach as the poor man's Burberry), the plastic Fashionista will be a limited edition and coveted by stylish barbie lovers everywhere.



She's being promoted through the Coach facebook page with a giveaway in which you guess the handbag she'll be sporting (I kind of gave that away, didn't I?) and you're entered into a sweepstakes with a chance to win the doll.

Adorable Hand Carved Wooden Puppets By Australian Wez Champion.

With initial training and a mentorship in Prague under Puppet master Michaela Bartonova, Wez Champion is establishing himself as a “one of a kind” puppet carver in the Australia. Combining the traditional Czech carving techniques with the unique Australian experience and “heart”, Wez is constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible in wooden puppet building and loves the challenge of custom puppets.

Here's a look at a few of his adorable one-of-a-kind hand carved puppets which he sells under the name of Loutky Puppets.

Wombat Tabletop Puppet:




The ears are made from "Cane Toad Leather" (the cane toad is a pest in Australia, responsible for widespread destruction of their native species). Not only is use of this leather a distinctive feature in Wez's Puppets, but it has a unique texture and pattern, adding more life to these puppets.

The two arms are moveable with brass rods inset into the elbow joints.

Tasmanian Figured Myrtle "quoll" tabletop puppet:




The quoll is a legendary animal that is on the brink of being wiped out from our world. This native Australian carnivore is rare to see in the wild.

Individually crafted By Wez Champion from "Figured Tasmanian Myrtle" (a native Australian exotic wood), this quoll puppet as unique as it is adorable.

The ears are made from "Cane Toad Leather" and the neck joint of the quoll puppet is a new development in wooden puppet building and a distinctive technique of Wez's work, allowing for amazingly expressive movement of the head.

The two arms are moveable with brass rods inset into the elbow joints.

Sanrio and Pretty Ugly (the company that produces David Horvath's Uglydolls) have partnered for a co-branded line of collectibles featuring a mash-up of Hello Kitty and Uglydoll characters.

Limited Edition Star Trek Wines Feature Labels With The Artwork of Juan Ortiz.

STAR TREK, the wine, is a limited edition of varietals that features artwork designed by artist Juan Ortiz in celebration of Star Trek: The Original Series. Fans will recognize three of the wine labels as three of the most beloved episodes of all time: “The City on the Edge of Forever,” “The Trouble with Tribbles” and “Mirror, Mirror.”

The Collection
These first ever Star Trek wines are being released as a limited edition collection with limited production. Each wine commemorates one of Star Trek's most famous episode from The Original Series.

From the delicate Bajoran spring wine of Kendra province to the fruity bouquet of rare Tulaberry wine, Star Trek has a longstanding appreciation for wine and its many varietals and complex flavors. STAR TREK, the wine, sourced from Viansa Winery in Sonoma, California, is a medium bodied red blend of Merlot, Sangiovese, and Cabernet Franc. The Labels
Each of the labels has been designed by famous artist, Juan Ortiz. Commissioned by CBS, Juan Ortiz has created a collection of 80 original prints to commemorate each episode of The Original Series (including the unaired pilot episode).



The book, Star Trek: The Art of Juan Ortiz is a new hardcover book available September 2013 and can be pre-ordered here.

The Wine


The wine used in this collection is produced from the award-winning Viansa Winery in Sonoma, California. It is a special blend of Merlot, Sangiovese, Cabernet Franc, Dolcetto, Tinta Cao, and Tempranillo. The blend comes together to create a medium-bodied, easy drinking red wine that is full of depth and character.


STAR TREK, the wine, is licensed by CBS Consumer Products and retails for $24.99 on Vinport and can be enjoyed with pizza, grilled meats or vegetables, or your favorite Romulan dish.

The 12" doll was sculpted by Takao Kato, whose work includes 1:16 scale and 1:4 scale figures for the otaku market.
